Level 3 Award in Education & Training
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (PTLLS) course is designed to teach you the skills and qualities required to become a good teacher and to develop a successful learning environment.
The course covers three mandatory units. On enrollment on the course you will be sent the online and distance learning resources. The online presentation then guides you through the course criteria step by step. At the end of each topic you are given clear guidance on how to answer each specific criteria.
In addition to completing the written assessments you are also required to deliver a 15 minute micro teach lesson. This can be videoed or delivered via a webinar eg Zoom.
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
This course is designed for individuals who would like to start teaching or for those who are already teaching but need a nationally recognised qualification for their career development.
It is designed for both the private training industry and post 16 educational institutes, and covers the generic teaching skills that are required in becoming an effective teacher/trainer.
Potential progression routes include the Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training (CTLLS) or the Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training (DTLLS).
PREREQUISITES?
- Vocational or academic qualification at Level 2 or higher
- Basic Level of literacy, numeracy and ICT ability
In order to qualify for the program, you will need to submit a completed application form which will be provided to you. This form should be provided along with a copy (picture or scan) of the documents below within one week of enrolment.
- Proof of educational qualifications.
- You must provide an identication document such as a passport or a driving licence.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
- Unit A looks at your roles and responsibilities as a teacher
- Unit B involves planning your own session and the importance of providing an inclusive teaching setting that meets all individual needs.
- Unit C investigates the three main types of assessment in teaching and the pivotal role that ongoing assessment in teaching plays
The course will be directly delivered to you, and you have 12 months access to the online learning platform from the date you joined the course. The course is self-paced and you can complete it in stages, revisiting the lectures at anytime
